The cooperative played a major role in helping to establish the strict standards of the USDA Organic certification and continues to hold their farmer members to these standards as it relates to their entire farming operations from the overall humane treatment of their livestock, their relationship to their land and the quality of their finished product to exceed the expectations of their consumers. Organic Valley product is second to none and many of their goods have been recognized and awarded prestigious awards for the quality of their wholesome foods raised in harmony the way Mother Nature intended.

Organic Prairie, the meat branded company of Organic Valley, is the industry leader of animal welfare for their strict standards of how they raise their livestock. Organic Prairie incorporates the concern of their animals and the interactive relationship they have with the land needed to properly rear their livestock in every decision they make in their operations. There are many aspects that make the raising of certified organic meat products unique and Organic Prairie takes great pride working in harmony with nature promising that all of their animals are raised humanly, never given antibiotics or synthetic hormones or pesticides, never fed animal byproducts, the feed certified organic and raised on pastures certified organic as well.
